Introduction
What is a drywall false ceiling?
A drywall false ceiling is a horizontal structure suspended from the slab by galvanised steel profiles and threaded rods, with laminated plasterboards screwed to it under UNE-EN 520. The drop ranges from 10 to 30 cm depending on the system, hiding cables, pipes and irregular slabs under a flat surface ready to paint.

Installation process
How long does a drywall false ceiling take?
The timeline depends on three factors: area to cover, chosen system (seamless, acoustic, decorative, technical with LED) and whether electrical or HVAC services need to be integrated above the board.
A 50 m² seamless ceiling with no services installs in a single working day. With recessed LED spotlights the timeline rises to 1.5–2 days. For double-board acoustic systems, coffers or curved shapes the timeline reaches 3–5 days.
Joint treatment with tape and compound, priming and sanding to 120 grit are carried out the next day and do not block use of the adjacent space. Painting is not included in the standard offer and can be done 24–48 h after the compound is fully dry.
