Yes, as long as type-H moisture-resistant board (green) is used: Placo Pregyhidro, Knauf Diamant H or Glasroc H Ocean. While a standard board absorbs more than 30% of its weight in water, H1 board absorbs less than 5% (EN 520). In shower areas with direct water we fit Glasroc H Ocean (fibreglass, no cellulose), which removes any mould risk. Yes. H board takes direct tiling with C2 adhesive up to 40 kg/m² (standard ceramic and porcelain tiles). For large-format porcelain we use double board or Aquapanel cement board, which supports up to 50 kg/m². Before tiling we waterproof shower areas with a membrane or waterproofing paint and reinforcement tape in the corners, as required by the Spanish building code (CTE DB-HS).

Condensation appears in unventilated bathrooms with cold walls. The complete fix: a wall lining with H board + 40 mm mineral wool (the wall is no longer cold so it stops condensing), mechanical extraction ducted through the false ceiling, and Class 3 anti-mould paint. On the seafront (Palmanova, Cala Major, Port de Pollença) we use Glasroc H Ocean, which contains no cellulose and cannot feed mould. The result is permanent, not a patch.

The lining and false ceiling of a 4-5 m² bathroom is fitted in 1-2 days and can be painted after 24 hours. A full renovation (new partitions, ceiling, tile-ready preparation) takes 3-5 days of drywall work.
