Medieval old-town houses have 50-80 cm thick marés or limestone walls. These offer exceptional thermal mass but uneven surfaces with no complementary insulation.
A self-supporting drywall wall lining (Placo or Knauf board with galvanised framing) is the most respectful intervention: an independent frame with no fixings to the wall, insulation in the cavity and board as the finish. It does not drill into or modify the original wall, a critical point in BIC buildings.

Heritage protection and archaeologist coordination
The medieval old town requires a favourable Heritage Commission report from the Consell de Mallorca for interventions visible from outside. Interior drywall works, as they do not alter façade, structure or volumes, only require a prior minor-works notice.

Playa de Muro, Mal Pas and Can Picafort
Playa de Muro forms an urban continuum with Port of Alcúdia and concentrates hotels and apartments. Mal Pas is a residential cove area (Mal Pas-Bonaire) with seafront villas. Can Picafort (Santa Margalida) is another northern tourist core.

Humidity and proximity to the sea
Beachfront in Port of Alcúdia and Can Picafort faces high humidity. We use moisture-resistant boards (H or WA) from Placo or Knauf in bathrooms, kitchens and sea-facing rooms, with high-quality galvanised steel framing.
Tramontana and thermal insulation
